Tag Deactivators, Reactivators and
Combo Units
Block Tag Deactivator
A magnetic Block Deactivator is a portable
non electronic tag deactivator that sits on the
counter. The Block Deactivator is an ideal back-up
unit in the case of power outages when books need to be
checked out manually. Some libraries choose to mount
this unit under the counter and install a target plate on
the counter to identify the location of the deactivation
field.
Portable Wand Tag
Reactivator
The Sentry Portable Reactivator is compact
and easy to use. The unit is very light weight (360 gr/0.08
lbs) and is completely cordless. After use, the
reactivator is recharged by inserting into the companion
battery charger.
Books can be reactivated individually, in
groups, or when back on the shelf. Many libraries
choose to reactivate books by placing them in a library book
cart and running the unit in an up and down motion along the
spine of the books. Typically this
will take 1-2 minutes per book cart, saving valuable staff
time.
Magnetic Media Tag Combo Deactivator/Reactivator
Magnetic media such as pre-recorded
audiocassettes, videos and 3.5 software diskettes cannot be
deactivated on a standard Book Deactivator. Sentry
manufactures Magnetic Media Deactivator/Reactivators that
will not affect the recorded information. This unit
requires no power, is easy to use and is available either as
a desktop or hand held unit.
Electronic Tag Combo Deactivator/Reactivator
LCS Pro has an ergonomic and efficient
design, ensuring optimum productivity at the circulation
counter. A light indicates the status of the security
strip, either active or inactive. An item is
reactivated and returned to the library or deactivated and
lent out simply by passing it over the wear resistant
surface of the LCS Pro. The status indicator light can
also be used to easily identify if a book has previously
been tagged.
ScanEze Scanner Combo Deactivator/Reactivator
The ScanEze is a combined barcode scanner
and security tag deactivator/reactivator workstation.
This unit sits on the counter so there is no need to cut the
counter. It has an ergonomic design and light
indicators confirm that the security strip is detected and
the operation (deactivation or reactivation) has been
successfully completed. The unit can be used to
process all items in the library, including print, magnetic
media (videos, audio books, talking books, children's kits),
CDs, and DVDs.
Sentry Scan-De
The Scan-De is a combination barcode
scanner and security strip deactivator for books, CDs, and DVDs that is mounted
into the counter and uses an omni directional grocery style scanner
for processing barcodes in multiple orientations. Scan-De is recommended for
libraries with barcodes on the outside of books.
